About Me

I live in Skerries, a wonderful town on the east coast of Ireland. My family ‘blew in’ here in the early 1900s when my grandfather arrived as an orphan. We are lucky to live here. I began this blog to shine a light into a national planning decision that lacked transparency and impacted my family and the local community. I have witnessed an erosion of local and national democracy, where power is wielded by a small number of unelected executives. The devastating impact of their policies has brought us our housing crisis. My blog has evolved since the early days. I got tired of talking about corruption, conflicts of interests and a system that protects itself. I am grateful for all the encouragement and support I have received and I will continue to use my voice when necessary. In the meantime I hope to write about a more hopeful and happier topics.
